This Pineapple Turmeric Smoothie is so refreshing! It’s perfect for springtime or summer.

I love espresso. I think it’s in my blood. I grew up learning how to make espresso the Cuban way (and was horrified by how much sugar my aunt put in it!). Azucar!

I love drinking espresso first thing in the morning and any time I’m with my family. But coffee can be an appetite suppressant so I know it’s not a great habit when you’re trying to be healthier and eat at regular intervals.

 My solution? This protein shake.

I get my cafecito fix AND a healthy serving of protein and fiber to keep me energized and not just jittery.

Plus it has chocolate. Need I say more?

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Blend all ingredients until smooth.
  2. Optional: garnish with fresh berries, more chocolate, or anything you’d like!
  3. Serve & enjoy!

NOTES:

  • I used a full banana, which can be super filling. Opt for half a banana if that feels like too much for you. You can sub ¼ cup Greek yogurt or coconut yogurt to keep it creamy.
  • I made this with vanilla flax milk but use any milk of your choice.
  • I opted to use dates for sweetener because they have fiber. You can use honey instead if you prefer. Espresso is bitter so you won’t want to skip sweetener unless you like the bitterness.
  • I used organic cacao. Cacao is a superfood and a great source of magnesium and lots of other vitamins and minerals. Cocoa powder can be substituted if you don’t have cacao on hand.
  • I used fresh brewed espresso, but you can sub instant espresso powder if you prefer and just add more liquid.

Want something refreshing and loaded with good stuff? This smoothie is hydrating, packed with vitamin c, light, and absolutely delicious! It’s perfect for a pool-side healthy treat, a post-workout protein shake, or a quick and satisfying breakfast.

Cotton candy grapes are my favorite. I can’t resist buying them any time I see them in the grocery store. They are the best frozen! Have you tried freezing them with a little lemon juice on top? It’s like an all-natural Sour Patch Kids candy swap—I’m addicted! I’ve also made sorbets with them before. They’re truly *chef’s kiss* perfection.

I’m the same way with kiwis. I can’t resist buying them, but since I usually don’t make anything with them, I always end up with a few that go bad. But, not this time!

This smoothie is so simple. With only 5 ingredients, it’s the perfect go-to smoothie you can make over and over again.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Blend all ingredients until smooth.
  • Serve & enjoy!

TIPS:

  • I used soy milk for this recipe, but any milk, dairy or non-dairy, will work well.
  • Try adding spinach or kale for an extra boost of nutrients!
  • I didn’t add chia seeds or anything fancy to this recipe, but in the future I might try adding some soaked chia seeds and spirulina. You can’t really go wrong with this combo of cotton candy grapes and kiwi. It’s sweet enough that any additions should be fine.
